| | Portraits of Past, Les Savy Fav, Neutral Milk Hotel | ] | Yesterday I realized how much I need to pursue myself as an artist, no matter how irrational it ever becomes. Despite the lack of financial stability, I have no desire to execute any alternative, prosaic career. Assuredly, I'll be involved with several projects and undergo immense castigation, but frankly I venerate those more who adhere to their fervent hearts as opposed to their docile minds. I'd rather spend the rest of my life frantically striving than succumb to a mundane, unfulfilled lifestyle. |

Some great bands that I've seen live:

I'm sure there are a few others, but they aren't coming to mind right now. |

I'll give you a cookie or something if you go and we'll promise to pour every ounce of passion into our performance. Come on guys, we need a posse!
P.S. Call me and I'll sell you ticket for $4 rather than having to pay $5 at the door.

INTP - "INTPs are known for their quest for logical purity, which motivates them to examine universal truths and principles. They are constantly asking themselves and others the questions 'Why?' and 'Why not?' Clear and quick thinkers, they are able to focus with great intensity on their interests. They appreciate elegance and efficiency in thought processes and require them, even more so, in their own communications. They may be seen as unwilling to accept what everyone else regards as truth. While often low key in outward appearance and approach, the INTP is 'hard as nails' when challenging a truth. INTPs do not like to deal with the obvious. They are at their best in building conceptual models and developing unusual and complex ideas."
I believe it's fairly accurate although I'm not going to allow a test determine who I am. Otherwise, I might be imbued by the proverbial Forer effect.

The band I'm in, previously known as The Affair, is currently undergoing a name change and we've narrowed it down to either "Page of Lines" or "Fine Feathers." Let me know what you think.
As for now here's my most recent composition:
"Empty Passing"
It's everlasting encumbrance compensates for those broad mistakes which were left unnoticed. Though seldom hurling through the favonian sky with such ease, it seeks redemption. Dithering to rectify due to trauma and dissatisfaction provoked by the self-inflicted wounds it chose to proceed with.
There isn't a line drawn between substance and distinction. It would prefer subjugation in a world full of apprehension, conceding to a transient life span of furtive wisdom. A threshold entails limitations of human endurance, yet through a single instance it could bear no more.
Adulation is the price of intelligence while disgrace is the price of imprudence. |

It doesn't have to necessarily be instantaneous, it can gradually happen over a period of time. I'm sure this scenario occurs more often than people are aware of but it's rarely exposed because people find replacements. You shouldn't efface your mind of all those meaningful instances which you knew you could never experience with anyone else, it's something so special you can never replace it. You know it was there so why would we deny such relationships? Is it because people change or maybe things just happen, what is it?

| Most of the Lyrics |
[Dec. 6th, 2006|10:34 am] |
For the band I'm in with Will and Lyle:
1. We Will Regret It's only the unwanted presence of forgiveness that makes us forget what we do. If we don't understand it then we'll never learn.
Hopeless exertion is assertion without reation. I need to tell you something... oh wait, never mind. Don't let you're interest get the best of you, we thrive on it.
We thrive on it. We thrive on it. We thrive on it. We thrive on it.
2. A.D. (Acquired Development) This world, this life, all comes crashing down.
Rehearsing without purpose. Inflicting without conscience.
Are we better off falling asleep?
4. Manumission If only life was that easy... I'd ask myself a million questions.
Acquire acceptance not hope, it's so hard to see past ourselves. Don't worry, we'll look both ways to find an exit for our entrance.
Wishing content wasn't a slave to reality.
5. Untitled We can experiment with expression but our insatiable minds will yearn for more.
You try being you and I will try being me. You can not miss something in which you never obtained.
Your beauty flails in churlish desperation evoking faint moments of dispatched hope. Will you ever grow into confidence? A lack of convention garnished with shattered mirrors. |

| | Moss Icon | ] | I'll provide all of you with a terse update since I'm too indolent for anything extensive. I'm finally going out with Melissa even though we were together before, it's just official now. I'm registered at Mesa and intend on taking Liberal Arts and Personal Growth. I'm booking another show at the Che Cafe on December 2nd which will feature Da Bears, Adjust the Picture, The Affair, and most likely Abe Vigoda.
Here's more albums for all of you since no one bothers leaving me comments unless I post music.
http://www.gigasize.com/get.php/190582/Tiny_Hawks.zip Tiny Hawks - People Without End I attended and performed at a show of theirs nearly six months ago and continue to relish their brilliance. Tiny Hawks' performance was emotive and poignant; even more impelling because of how much heart and soul they integrated into their intricate dissonance. The tuning was intriguing as well, producing a variation of mathy emocore. Definitely a treat to see them come all the way down from Olneyville, Rhode Island. (adjacent to Providence I believe)
http://www.gigasize.com/get.php/145688/and_you_will_know_us_by_the_trail_of_dead.zip And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead... - Madonna Trail of Dead's sophmore album and Merge debut swan song. "Madonna" boasts frenetic guitars supplemented with fawning bass lines and vigorous drum beats resulting in a riveting masterpiece. Their fluctuating dynamics will not disappoint the discerning ear. Think Sonic Youth (circa Daydream Nation) meets Slant 6.
http://www.gigasize.com/get.php/190959/Matt_and_Kim.zip Matt and Kim - To/From 5 Song Demo I'll be frank with you, I personally deem Mates of Sate as an overrated pop duo amongst the indie scene (although they have grown quite popular) and I frequently find myself lowering the volume due to their sheer giddiness, but with Matt and Kim this is hardly the case. Matt and Kim aren't as talented, they aren't as creative, and they aren't married but their music provokes me to dance considering it places me in such a terrific mood. Their live performances are considerably energetic and more enjoyable than recieving a meaningful gift that you've been desiring since the last blue moon. Matt's nasally vocals and fetchy keyboards accompanied by Kim's elementary throbbing is a match made in heaven.
http://www.gigasize.com/get.php/191180/Magik_Markers.zip Magik Markers - I Trust My Guitar, Etc If you're looking for a more contemporary "no wave" outfit check out the Magik Markers. They aren't another mundane pseudo no wave/alternative soho band, compared to all of the prevalent guff that was released by several erroneously self-proclaimed 02'-03' artists. It's commodiously surreal and interminably intensifies, leaving you to implore for a zenith.
http://www.gigasize.com/get.php/190922/Zom_Zoms.zip The Zom Zoms - Yellow Rainbow The 80's nerds' third full-length release. Synthetic rhythms expeditiously oscillate as the "Twister"-patterned, quartet infuse copious ferocity into their primordial synth-punk. They endeavor a "vintage cool" archetype which bolsters the dorky yet amusing procession of the album. Overall, Yellow Rainbow is a mercurial fusillade of aural grist for the inner spaz in all of us. |

| Indian Summer |
[Nov. 21st, 2006|01:39 pm] |
Typically I don't post an entry where's it's merely lyrics from a song in which I acclaim, although "Woolworm" is an exception for that matter. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Indian Summer - "Woolworm" (aka Angry Son)
Mending slowly, all wounds, and prickless knees. This is the burden of a sunken child. A look to heaven, to see again. He's buried. Completes the stone heart of an angry son, an angry son who's done his swallowing, his memories are bitten pills, so many bitten pills that he has collected, and all he has is broken ground. He now moves on.
This grounds so unsettled, so endlessly unsettled. Counting on the way to the sunken earth.
But still he moves on.
This is earth, for she has moved on and collected, settled to his own liking, and still he moves on.
A voice in the back of his head reminding him that this is stolen, that this is not his.
All these moments, all these precious time spent moments in gravity.
All this anxious waiting, all this time spent waiting.
All this pain that you know, all this time spent moving, all this pain that you will ever know.
Though he is living, silently in moments, and forgiving relevance... it is in his heart he is holding and crawling behind sadness of empty fields.
It is in these moments of time well spent... in these moments of gravity, this time well spent, a look to heaven, sighing tears of angel's in the night sky...
Racing, racing, yelling softly, "this is the moment, this is the moment."
A look to heaven, sighing tears of angel's in the night sky, this is the moment.
Holding moments and forgiving relevance... it is in his heart he is holding and calling behind sadness of empty fields. All these moments of time, time well spent.
Behind tired eyes, behind tired eyes, he is waiting and knowing our destinies.
We call him the angry son. |
